Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Belmont Park, Keeneland and Santa Anita Picks for October 10, 2021

Ricky’s Rockets 🚀 was here for all of the action on Saturday afternoon, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. With that in mind, there’s one more day of high-speed racing action as we head back to Belmont, Keeneland and Santa Anita. There are six more stakes races on tap, four of which are Breeders’ Cup Win and You’re In races! It’s time to end the weekend on a high note, as we move closer and closer to the first weekend in November!

Belmont Park October 10, 2021

Race 6: Beldame Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt

#4 Horologist looked strong in the Summer Colony Stakes on August 22. She will get the chance to make it two in a row, as the competition stiffens in a big way. One of the runners looking to make it tough on her is #7 Spice Is Nice. She has the chance to show early speed, and stick to Horologist throughout the entirety of the race.

Race 7: $50,000 Maiden Claiming for New York-bred 2-year-olds going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#5 Empire Station makes his debut for George Weaver, one of many first time starters in the race. He has solid pedigree, and gets one of the best trainers percentage wise at the meet. #8 Light Work is also making his debut, and has some impressive morning works to back it up. Jose Lezcano will be tasked with getting him to the winners’ circle at first asking.

Race 8: Knickerbocker Stakes (G3) for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the inner turf

#3 Sacred Life likes to come from way out of it, which is one of his biggest issues. If he can be a little closer to the front early on, it will make things much easier for him in this race. #8 En Wye Cee will look to run his best race on or near the front end. John Velazquez was last aboard in 2019 when he ran at Keeneland.

Race 9: $50,000 Maiden Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the widener turf

#3 My Boy Colton looked at his best when he dropped in for a tag on September 19 here at Belmont. With that being said, he also showed speed, something he hadn’t done in the past. #8 Bail Out has had his chances int he past, finishing second at this level. He always runs a pretty solid race for the most part.
