Concert Tour was considered a leading candidate to be favored in the Kentucky Derby leading into the April 10 Arkansas Derby (G1), where the favored Street Sense colt suffered his first defeat.

Trainer Bob Baffert was noncommital following the race before finally confirming Saturday morning via text to Rogers: “Concert out. Wait for Preakness.”

The Preakness, held at Pimlico Racecourse, is the second leg of the American Triple Crown. The Belmont Stakes (G1), the final leg, is scheduled for June 5 at Belmont Park.

Baffert has trained 6 winners of the Kentucky Derby, 7 of the Preakness (both tied for most all time), and 3 of the Belmont, including Triple Crown champions American Pharoah (2015) and Justify (2018).
