Free Pick: Baltimore (6-2) at Miami (2-7) 11/11/21

On paper this is a mismatch, but more and more, we are seeing that there is no such thing in the NFL. The Ravens are currently in 1st place in the difficult AFC North, and a loss here would be damaging. This is a game they are counting as a win. The Dolphins have been the most disappointing team in the league and are looking for respectability in the 2nd half of the season. Let’s see what Vegas is thinking.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

Baltimore: 27.5 Total Team Points The Ravens are averaging 28 points in their eight games. They have been fairly consistent on offense and are putting up 428 total yards per game. The Miami defense has been hurt by an anemic offense and often have been put in difficult positions. One would think, if Baltimore comes to play they should have success moving the ball. On the pessimistic side, they have a tendency to play down to poorer competition. I would take Baltimore OVER 27.5 points but I would be cautious.

Miami 20.5 Total Team Points This seems a little high to me. In only three games, have the Dolphins scored over 21 points. Last week, in a win over the hapless Houston Texans, they managed to score 17. I would take Miami UNDER 20.5 team points and feel good about it.

OVER/UNDER 46.5 Total Combined Team Points I see an uninspired Baltimore team coming into South Florida and winning 20-14, 21-10,or something in that vicinity. I’ll go UNDER 46.5 combined team points.

POINT SPREAD: Baltimore is a -7.5-point favorite. On most days, Baltimore is 15 points better than the Dolphins. It is fairly obvious Vegas thinks the Ravens are going to take Miami lightly. Even after last week, and all the crazy stuff that happened to overwhelming favorites, Baltimore will probably play below their ability
