Free Pick: Arkansas (4-0) at Georgia (4-0) 10/2/21

The Razorbacks are the surprise team of the year and they have burst onto the national scene. They are well-coached, talented, and play their tails off. They stomped Texas in Fayetteville and last week shut down 7th ranked Texas A&M, 20-10 to leap into the Top-10. Now, they face an even bigger challenge in Athens. Georgia defeated Clemson in the opener which was a big deal at the time, but maybe wasn’t as big as we thought, since Clemson has turned out to be a flop. They are ranked No.2 and they are rolling along. This might be a good one.

Scouting the Razorbacks:

Quarterback: K.J. Jefferson has been steadily making improvements from week-to-week. He has passed for 844 yards and has thrown 6 touchdown passes. He also has ran 32 times for 230 yards and 2 TD’s, and he is dangerous every time he time he runs the ball. He is the key to the game for Arkansas and he will have to make plays.

Running Backs: Trelon Smith has rushed for 298 yards on 59 carries and he is a workhorse. Raheim Sanders and Dominique Johnson have added a combined for an additional 315 yards.

Receivers: The Hogs have an All-American candidate in wide receiver, Treylon Burks who has 19 catches for 373 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tyson Morris has helped out with 7 catches for 169 yards and is a deep threat.

Defense: Linebackers, Bumper Pool (38 tackles) and Hayden Henry (31 tackles) are the leaders on an aggressive defense. Jalen Catalon leads the secondary with 30 tackles and 2 interceptions, and defensive lineman Tre Williams leads the pass rush and has registered 4 sacks.

Scouting the Bulldogs:

Quarterback: J.T. Daniels has completed 76% of his passes and for 569 yards and 5 touchdowns. His statistics are limited because the games have been blowouts and he has watched from the sidelines when the games get out of hand.

Running Backs: Zamir White has 207 yards on 37 carries and James Cook and Kendall Milton have combined for 252 more. They like to pound the ball and will try and establish the run.

Receivers: Brock Bowers has 18 catches for 272 yards and 4 touchdowns and Jermaine Burton is a good compliment to him with 12 receptions for 219 additional yards.

Defense: A lot of people think the Georgia defense is the best in the country. They are allowing 71 rushing yards per game and have 14 sacks and have forced 7 interceptions. Against UAB and Vanderbilt they gave up a combined total of 71 yards passing.

Arkansas comes into this game with a lot of confidence and they are playing well. They are the best team that Georgia has played and if they can get off to a good start and can play mistake free they have a chance. Meanwhile, Georgia’s defense has been dominating but this is the first team they have played that has any kind of offense. The Bulldogs are an 18 point favorite.
