Mor Spirit Pulled Up During Work Today at Santa Anita

Mor Spirit, one of the country’s leading Kentucky Derby prospects, was eased in a work today at Santa Anita. He was chasing a gray horse in the lane when Gary Stevens pulled up to a gallop. We still don’t know much but this is what we do know:

#mor spirit is fine according to Baffert &Stevens – they forgot to take the earplugs out – was too far back and Not a good workhorse !

Bob Baffert on Mor Spirit this AM: "Mor Spirit is fine. He is very lazy and tricky to work. Martin Garcia was sick today. Gary filled in."

Baffert on Mor Spirit: "We had his ear plugs in so he would not be that tough & it put him to sleep. Gary aborted the work as a precaution."

We will continue to update as we hear more clearly what happened. Mor Spirit is currently ranked 3rd in the Kentucky Derby points with 24. His next start has still not been officially announced.
