ARCADIA, CA – Trainer Jeff Mullins’ rapidly-improving Hariboux, a recent 1-mile turf stakes winner, heads a field of seven sophomores going 1 1/8 miles on turf in Saturday’s $150,000 Cinema Stakes at Santa Anita Park.
Owned by Red Baron’s Barn and Rancho Temescal, English-bred Hariboux has a late-running style which should be conducive to the extra furlong he’ll encounter in the Cinema.
Others with solid chances are his stablemate, K P All Systems Go, who is proven at the Cinema distance; trainer Craig Lewis’ California-bred Club Aspen, who was third to Hariboux two starts back; and John Sadler’s Heywoods Beach, a recent 1-mile turf maiden special weight winner.
The $150,000 Cinema Stakes with jockeys and weights in post position order:
Heywoods Beach – Flavien Prat – 120
Club Aspen – Jorge Velez – 124
K P All Systems Go – Abel Cedillo – 122
Constitutionalaffair – Ruben Fuentes – 120
Dominant Soul – Tiago Pereira – 120
Liar Liar – Mario Gutierrez – 120
Hariboux – Umberto Rispoli – 124
