ARCADIA, CA – Nick Alexander’s consistent homebred Lieutenant Dan, trainer Phil D’Amato’s comebacking Prince Earl, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry D. Williams’ classy Ward ’n Jerry all loom large in Saturday’s $100,000 Crystal Water Stakes at Santa Anita Park.

For California-bred or sired horses 3 and up going 1 mile on turf, the Crystal Water has attracted a competitive field of eight. Named for California Champion Crystal Water, who won both the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) and the Hollywood Gold Cup (G1) at age 4 in 1977, the Crystal Water is sponsored by the CTBA and is part of the lucrative Golden State Series for eligible horses bred or sired in California
