The Somobombs: Keeneland and Santa Anita Pick including the Santa Anita Late Pick 4 for October 16th, 2021

We are going to go coast to coast today with the Somobombs and playing both Keeneland and Santa Anita. I choose to add Santa Anita because I have a couple of prices that I like in the turf races. Hopefully we can string a couple of them together and get a nice score.

Keeneland is off the turf, except for the feature, and sloppy so there were some big adjustments on that card.

Race 6

I love Luis Mendez with first time starters, especially when he uses a bug rider so let’s start with #2 Roses R Blue. I’ll include #3 So Very Smart who has the best races on paper. Let’s go 3 deep here and add #8 Supersonic Flyer to the ticket.

Race 7

Always nice to get a downhill turf sprint! Let’s go two deep here and use the lone speed #4 Anna Fantastic who will try to take this one wire to wire and then add the best horse in #1 Warren’s Showtime who will be trying to run down Anna Fantastic late.

Race 8

#10 Spoiled Rotten draws the outside and drops in class for Doug O’Neill. She’s shown speed vs. better and should be very dangerous in this spot. I like first time starter #2 Flame McGoon for Mark Glatt who is 26% with Hernandez up. She’s been working well in the AM including a nice effort out of the gate three back. I’ll go 4 deep here using #6 Respect the Ride and #3 Miss Malia.

Race 9

The favorite, #9 Candy On Top, is deserving and will be tough in this spot. I do like a couple of prices including #5 Ball Lass who showed speed in her debut before fading. I expect a better effort 2nd time out. Let’s close out the ticket with #4 Peaceheaven and #1 Infinite Love
