NFL Free Pick: New York Giants (2-5) at Kansas City (3-4) 11/1/21 October 31, 2021 Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports NFL Free Pick: New York Giants (2-5) at Kansas City (3-4) 11/1/21 October 31, 2021 By: Mike Halterman email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article On paper, this Monday night game, should be a blow-out between these two teams. But, I suppose when you look at the records of the two, it shouldn’t be. That is how big of a disappointment the Chiefs have been. On the bright side, for Chiefs’ fans, they have lost to four teams with a combined record of 18-8. Unfortunately, on the dark side, a Super Bowl contender shouldn’t lose all four of those teams, especially the two games at home (Chargers and Bills). Let’s see what there is to bet.TOTAL TEAM TOTALS:New York: Total Team Point Total: 20.5 The Giants have scored over 21 points in three games this season. And, they are going up against a Kansas City defense that has allowed at least 27 points in every game but one. So, logic suggests that the Giants should eclipse this team point total. Daniel Jones has completed 64% of his passes and the Giants are averaging 261 yards passing per game. Interestingly enough, he also leads the team in rushing too. The Giants don’t run the ball very well and they won’t be able to run clock like some of the other teams do against the Chiefs. I’m leaning on the Under 20.5 team total.Kansas City: Total Team Point Total 31.5 The have scored 31 points or more in all but 3 games this year. But, they are coming off scoring 20 at home against Buffalo, 31 at Washington, and a paltry 3 last week in Tennessee. So they are in a downward spiral offensively. The Giant defense is nothing special and most people are assuming Kansas City will correct some things this week and their offensive talent (Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, etc.) will bust out of it. But, we have been thinking this all season. I would take KC under 31.5 team points.OVER/UNDER COMBINED TEAM POINT TOTALS: 52 Because I’m going under against both teams point totals, I have to take the under on this line.POINT SPREAD: Kansas City -10 Let’s face it. Kansas City’s season is in Patrick Mahomes’ hands and feet. If he stops turning the ball over and taking what the defenses are giving him, the Chiefs have a chance of turning it around. They need him to quit being Clark Kent and turn into Superman. Yes, he needs some help from everyone else on this team, but he is the straw that stirs the drink. He has to play well. So, if you think he is going to be his old self take the Chiefs to cover, if you don’t, take the Giants and the points.AARON’S PICK: Kansas City -10PAPA DUDES PICK: UNDER 52 Combined Team Points
