Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Gulfstream Park, Oaklawn Park, Santa Anita Park and Tampa Bay Downs Picks for March 6, 2021

Ricky’s Rockets🚀 rolls into another massive Saturday on an absolute tear. We cashed Pick 4’s and Pick 5’s from Gulfstream, Oaklawn and Santa Anita on Friday afternoon! The Santa Anita card was especially kind to us, hitting the early Pick 4 for $291.70, and the early Pick 5 for $4,634.90! We are live on Saturday afternoon from Gulfstream Park, Oaklawn Park, Santa Anita and Tampa Bay Downs. It’s looking like another great day of horse racing is on tap, with plenty of Triple Crown coverage as well. If you are looking to make some money, this is the perfect place to do it!

Also included below: my 12-race preview of Gulfstream Park, 10-race preview of Oaklawn Park, 11-race preview of Santa Anita and 12-race preview of Tampa Bay Downs.

Best of luck!

Gulfstream Park March 6, 2021

Race 9: Hutcheson Stakes for 3-year-olds going 6 furlongs on the dirt

These aren’t the most talented 3-year-olds in the country, but this is still a pretty strong bunch. #4 Roderick has been tested more than the rest, leading me to believe he’s the one to beat. The other runner who needs to be looked at heavily is #6 Real Talk. Jose Ortiz talked about how impressed he was with him last time out. He’s ran the majority of his races against state-bred competition, so this will be a true test to see how he does against the main invader coming from Kentucky.

Race 10: Captiva Island Stakes for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 5 furlongs on the turf

#5 Karak is a true turf sprinter, and at 5 furlongs she’s even more deadly. She hasn’t run since last May, so her biggest obstacle is the layoff. Wesley Ward is arguably the best trainer when it comes to sprints in the country. #6 Miss Auramet comes into this race with the best resume of this group. On her best day, she will beat this group by a couple of lengths with ease.

Race 11: Any Limit Stakes for 3-year-old fillies going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#7 Farsighted never should’ve gone two turns in the Golden Rod Stakes (G2) last time out at Churchill Downs. She proved she is best going one turn against other sprinters. Jose Ortiz will look for speed to attack early on. #8 Shop Girl got back to her winning ways for Christophe Clement on February 4 with Luis Saez aboard. Saez is at Tampa Bay Downs on Saturday afternoon so Irad Ortiz Jr. gets the call. He’s the best replacement any runner can have.

Race 12: $6,250 Claiming for 4-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

#1 Trappezoid gets an instant upgrade in trainers as he moves on from Gary Jackson to Jorge Delgado. Like many of the other runners in this field, he’s extremely inconsistent and is capable of running a big one, or a clunker at any moment in time. #9 Donji is taking a big drop in class and should be the one to catch. He gets back to the first for the first time since last September as well. The grass hasn’t been working so maybe the switch to the main track is a good one.
