Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Belmont Park, Oaklawn Park and Santa Anita Park Picks for April 25, 2021

Yesterday was the first time #RickysRockets🚀 was at Churchill Downs all year, and it was a triumphant return in many ways! We also also gave out the FREE late Pick 4 at Belmont Park for close to $377 on a $3 wager! As we wrap up the weekend, we head back to Belmont, Oaklawn and Santa Anita, less than a week before the most prestigious race in the United States.

Belmont Park April 25, 2021

Race 6: Maiden Special Weight for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the dirt OFF TURF

#2 Spungie ran into arguably the toughest Maiden Special Weight group on the turf in her last start. She lost to multiple next out winners, and was on the front end of a race that had way too much speed early on. #15 Moon Sweeper draws into this race, and immediately becomes an attractive option as a Main Track Only runner. His dirt races are much better than his turf races.

Race 7: Allowance for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#4 Summer Brew had stakes races on her resume, prior to any wins on the same resume. Now that she’s won a race, it’s up for us to decide where she belongs. This is a logical spot, and we can’t say she hasn’t faced winners before. #6 Rainbow Gal comes out of an awful race, but she has shown improvement with every race. Orlando Noda did wonders with her in her first start for the new barn.

Race 8: $80,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for 3-year-old fillies going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the dirt

#4 Teetotaler looks to be the filly to beat, given her last two races. She won both of those by a combined 9 1/2 lengths, and her most recent race was at this level. She’s the only horse that has more than one win to her name. #5 Iced Latte will be put to the test here, but she is trending upward. In her lone start going two turns, she won going away. Maybe that was the recipe for her moving forward in her career.

Race 9: $30,000 Claiming for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt OFF TURF

#8 Funny Bones Flag should relish the opportunity to run over the dirt, given the amount of races she has on the main track. Her early speed should only help over a track with a lot of moisture. #14 Hebat drops out of a tough Allowance race at Parx last year, a race much tougher than this one. The layoff is a concern, but her talent shines amongst this group.
