Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park Picks for January 21, 2020 January 20, 2021 Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park Picks for January 21, 2020 January 20, 2021 By: Ricky Pasternak email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article Ricky’s Rockets? kicks off a brand new week on Thursday afternoon from Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park. This will be the final day before opening day at Oaklawn Park on Friday afternoon as well. Let’s build our bankrolls as we head into a massive weekend across the country. Also included below: my 10-race preview of Gulfstream Park. Best of luck! ( Content Continues Below Ad ) Aqueduct January 21, 2020 Race 5: $16,000 Claiming for 4-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt #3 Ninth Hour is one of the more exciting runners on the card due to his 8/1 morning-line odds. That is a lot of value for a runner looking for his third win in a row. #9 Oh My Papa will step up into tougher Claiming races, but on paper, he looks up for the task. Race 6: $25,000 Claiming for New York-bred 4-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt #1 Just Right moves into a much better barn for this start which is a notable move. Rob Atras is winning at 18% at the meet and one of the more underrated trainers in New York. #4 The Caretaker drops in class from a tough $40,000 Allowance Optional Claiming race. This race is much easier than his last one. Race 7: Allowance for 4-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt #2 Foolish Ghost is one of the more consistent horses at this level and can’t be left off of any tickets. #4 Bustin Shout finished right behind Foolish Ghost last time out. These two are standouts on paper, and will be tough to beat. Race 8: Maiden Special Weight for New York-bred 3-year-olds going 6 furlongs on the dirt #1 Raggae Music Man was strong in his debut and has the opportunity to improve in his next start. After finishing second in this spot last time out, he’s a must use here as well. #9 Vodka Lemonade will try the dirt for the first time after three straight turf starts. He showed speed in his past three races, so I expect him to do the same once again. THE TICKET $3 Pick 4 (Races 5-8) 3,9 / 1,4 / 2,4 / 1,9 – $48 For my full card plays, featuring race-by-race analysis, my top four picks for each race, and full-card multi-race wagers, check out my product below: Ricky’s Rockets: Aqueduct Ricky’s Rockets: Gulfstream Park
