Quidura Repays Supporters in G2 Canadian

TORONTO, ON – Gestuet Faehrhof’s Quidura repaid her strong support at the betting window, going off as the strong 2-5 favorite and clinching Saturday’s Grade 2, $250,000 Canadian at Woodbine Race Track.

Following up her strong second-place showing in the Grade 1 Diana, Quidura tracked the pace set by Involuntary through early splits of :24.60 and :48.78. Maintaining position while saving ground on the far turn, Quidura commenced a rally under Junior Alvarado and dueled with Starship Jubilee down the stretch before hitting the wire first in a final time of

“I knew I had horse,” said Alvarado. “Anytime I wanted to split horses or do something, I knew she was there for me, so I wasn’t worried. We were pretty much just waiting to turn for home. Then I found my spot, and after that she was there for me, gave me a nice kick.”

Elysea’s World charged late to take second over Starship Jubilee. GrizzelSouthern Gem, Involuntary, and Moonlight Sky completed the order of finish.

The win was the second graded stakes victory for the Graham Motion trainee following last fall’s Grade 3 Pin Oak Valley View at Keeneland.

“I ran her here today because of the timing,” Motion said. “I really hope to take her to Del Mar for the Breeders’ Cup.”

Quidura returned $2.80 to win and $2.10 to place, while Elysea’s World paid $2.90 to place. There was no show betting.
