NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 11/11

NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 11/11

A special Monday race card is on tap as Veterans Day is upon us at the Big A. After a great weekend of racing, there is no drop off with 10 races ahead of us. I’ve previewed both maiden special weight (MSW) races. See which horse has a trainer making his Aqueduct debut in 2019 and which 2-year-old looks to make his debut on the dirt.

Race 5: $62,000 MSW for New-York-bred 2-year-olds going 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt

A lot of promising 2-year-olds enter this field with zero racing experience. One of these horses that I’m very intrigued by is #4 Noble Endeavor. He comes into this race out of the Robert E. Reid Jr. barn where most of his runners are based out of Parx. He was scratched in a maiden special weight (MSW) race at Parx on November 2, then proceeded to post a :47.09 workout going 4 furlongs over the main track. This horse has supreme speed and a trainer bringing his horse to the NYRA circuit must instill a lot of confidence in the betting public.

Race 8: $70,000 MSW for 2-year-olds going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt

#7 Country Grammer makes his dirt debut for Chad Brown after impressing in his debut in the turf. In his first race, he went a mile on the turf and showed some early speed. Irad Ortiz gets the call for this one replacing Luis Saez who rode him very well. Irad Ortiz would be best off to urge Country Grammer to the front with a lack of early speed in the race. Irad has a ton of opportunities with this colt and should be between 5/1-10/1 at post-time.

Ricky’s Picks: 7-2-4-3
