( Content Continues Below Ad ) Not So Quiet was the 3/1 second choice as he broke on top from post 7 under Rafael Hernandez and raced heads apart inside of Eskiminzin and Red Cabernet down the backstretch and through the far turn. Straightening for home with a slight advantage, Not So Quiet pulled away in mid-stretch but came under fire from Royal Laser, the 2/1 favorite, in the late stages. Running hard through to the wire, the Mark Casse trainee repelled the bettors’ choice and held victory by 3/4 of a length, completing the 7 1/2-furlong firm inner turf route in 1:31.03. Dixie’s Gamble, Silent Jimmie, Thor’s Rocket, Royal Wedding, Eskiminzin, and Forester’s Turn completed the order of finish in the race restricted to Ontario-sired horses. Not So Quiet’s win was his second straight following the Vice Regent Stakes and improved his overall record to 12-6-0-1. The 5-year-old Silent Name gelding has now earned $262,572. “He’s got a lot of heart,” Hernandez said. “This horse, I’ve been running a long time before. I broke his maiden and he’s always a good horse.” Not So Quiet returned $8.40 to win, $4.50 to place, and $3.40 to show. Royal Laser brought back $3.50 to place and $2.90 to show, while Red Cabernet paid $5 to show.
