Here we go: 1. The Magic Mike Show (2/5) Tiz the Law – This horse is now easily the top 3-year-old in the country after dominating the Belmont Stakes (G1). Modernist – His Belmont Stakes (G1) effort was his team’s lone disappointment that day. Dr Post – His runner-up effort in the Belmont Stakes (G1) was huge and gives the team a solid 1-2 punch. Enforceable – Off since the Louisiana Derby (G2), he will return in the Blue Grass Stakes (G2). Tizamagician – He is back in training and aiming for a return on Del Mar’s opening weekend. 2. Jon White/Ryan Stillman (5/1) Honor A. P. – This team is back in the picture in a big way after their first-round draft picked looked tremendous winning the Santa Anita Derby (G1). Cafe Pharoah – The biggest challenger to the Magic Mike team turned to Japan to find their latest Derby prospect. Basin – He rebounded from a poor Oaklawn Stakes with a solid runner-up effort in the Arkansas Derby (G1) and is aiming for the Blue Grass Stakes (G2). Tap It to Win – He couldn’t hold his speed in the Belmont Stakes (G1), finishing off the board after setting the pace. Uncle Chuck – A big win in the Los Alamitos Derby (G3) has this team in prime position to make a final push for the top. 3. Aaron Halterman (8/1) Art Collector – The newest member of this team is heading to the Blue Grass Stakes (G2) after an eye-catching allowance win at Churchill Downs. Azul Coast – He did no running at all in the Santa Anita Derby (G1), showing that he is not the top-level 3-year-old that many expected. Authentic – He ran well to finish second in the Santa Anita Derby (G1), but he was clearly no match for Honor A. P. The Haskell Stakes (G1) is up next. Little Menace – He won the Derby! Too bad it was just the Grand Prairie Derby at Lone Star. Pneumatic – His Belmont Stakes (G1) effort wasn’t bad, but his fourth-place finish showed that he is not a top-level member of this crop. 4. Paul “Free Beers” Withrow (8/1) Thousand Words – This horse will likely make the Kentucky Derby based on points, but he is not an elite 3-year-old. Cezanne – The good new is he won an allowance race at Los Alamitos without much of challenge. The bad news is he was not visually impressive in the race, while his speed figure came back slow. Nadal – Unfortunately, he came up lame after a workout and is reportedly heading off to stud duty. Necker Island – He showed improvement with his new barn, finishing third in the Indiana Derby (G3). Caracaro – He could return in time to help this team finish the year strongly. 5. Real Dynasty (20/1) Green Light Go – He has struggled to run well or even stay healthy all season. Mr. Monomoy – His early 2020 injury will keep him from the Kentucky Derby, but he is reportedly pointing to the Preakness Stakes (G1). Farmington Road – This one-paced horse will always struggle to win. His Belmont Stakes (G1) effort was a disaster. Rushie – The newest member of this team will give it a go this weekend in the Blue Grass Stakes (G2). Sole Volante – He surprisingly did not run a step in the Belmont Stakes (G1). ( Content Continues Below Ad ) 6. Jared Welch (20/1) Maxfield – He suffered a condylar fracture on June 10 and is out for the year, but he is expected to fully recover and return for a 4-year-old campaign. Good news for the horse, bad news for this fantasy team. Eight Rings – He sucked something fierce in the Bachelor Stakes. The silver lining is that we will never have to see any more tweets from this team about him. Toledo – He put up another poor performance in a recent allowance race at Churchill Downs. Shoplifted – He made a move in the Woody Stephens Stakes (G1), only to flatten out in the stretch. Just another day for him. Ete Indien – This horse was absolutely awful in a recent allowance race at Gulfstream Park and will need to rebound in a big way if he is going to make an impact in the Haskell Stakes (G1). 7. Dan “Wise Dan” Waite (50/1) Sonneman – This horse recently lost a two-horse race. Nothing more needs to be said. Swiss Skydiver – This team turns to a filly for a much-needed boost, hoping that she will face the boys soon. Man in the Can – The co-newest member of the team is headed to the Blue Grass Stakes (G2) for his next start. Max Player – He returned from a long layoff and closed nicely to finish third in the Belmont Stakes (G1). Mystic Guide – He was second in a recent allowance race at Belmont Park but was not close to being competitive with the winner, Tap It to Win, who ran poorly in his next start. 8. Mike “Saratoga Slim” Spector (50/1) Structor – He is currently back working out after missing the first half of the year and could make an impact this summer. Ny Traffic – The newest member of the team has shown great consistency on the Derby Trail this year. Charlatan – After being drugged to victory in the Arkansas Derby (G1), he now needs “time off” and is out of Kentucky Derby contention. The Preakness Stakes (G1) is reportedly still a possibility. Country Grammer – He was a disappointing third in a recent allowance race at Belmont Park and no longer looks like a stakes-caliber horse. No Parole – Though he is not a two-turn Derby-type, he showed that he is one of the nation’s best sprinters after demolishing the Woody Stephens Stakes (G1). 9. Brandon “B$” Bauer (50/1) Dennis’ Moment – Once the most hyped horse in the class at age 2, he raced just once this year before falling off of the Kentucky Derby trail. High Velocity – It was good to see this team get points in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes (G3), but he was far from impressive and has gone missing from the work tab. Silver Prospector – He was a no-show once again in the Arkansas Derby (G1). Thunder Code – We have not seen this maiden since he was drafted and chances are slim that we ever will. Major Fed – His second place finish in the Indiana Derby (G3) could go a long ways towards keeping this team out of last place. 10. Austin Elsey/Steve “Evil Steveil” Ronchetto (50/1) Mischevious Alex – He was flat as a board in the Woody Stephens Stakes (G1), finishing well behind the winner. Mr. Big News – The last-place team is desperate to get out of the basement and rolls the dice with this colt, who won the Oaklawn Stakes last time out. Shivaree – The newest member of this team has enough points to make the Kentucky Derby already and could earn more in this weekend’s Blue Grass Stakes (G2). King Guillermo – He looks like a good claim after he running a solid second in the Arkansas Derby (G1). He is reportedly training straight to the Kentucky Derby, so he will be of no help to the last-place team until the end of the season. Wells Bayou – Trainer Brad Cox announced on June 10 that he is off the Derby trail due to bone bruising.
