Vision Perfect Nips Pool Winner in G3 Parx Dash

BENSALEM, PA – Mr. Amore Stable’s Vision Perfect stalked the pace throughout before nipping Pool Winner at the wire by a nose for his first graded score in Saturday’s Grade 3, $200,000 Parx Dash Stakes.

Breaking well from post 8 under Frankie Pennington, Vision Perfect sat four-wide down the backside while Pool Winner sat just ahead of the even-money favorite Pure Sensation while posting splits of :22.62 and :45.11. Given his cue in mid-stretch, Vision Perfect took command in the final 1/16 and held off Pool Winner for victory in a final time of :57.18 for the 5-furlong turf sprint.

Always close but just not good enough in the end, the defending champion Pure Sensation gamely fought throughout but had to settle for third. Bold Thunder took fourth over Dubini, while Oak Bluffs crossed in sixth by a 1/2-length past Ready for Rye. The rest of the field came across as Uncle LeoLouisiana Brown, and Nice Tune. Both Forman the Foreman and Tribalist were scratched.

Vision Perfect’s win improved his overall record to 29-6-3-5 with career earnings of $612,784. The 6-year-old intact son of Pollard’s Vision was seventh in this race last year, though he was less than 2 lengths behind second.

Vision Perfect returned $9.20 to win, $4.40 to place, and $3.40 to show. Pool Winner brought back $10 to place and $4.60 to show, while Pure Sensation paid $2.10 to show.
