Alright, we’ve shaken off that Breeders Cup hangover and are back at it on a nice Friday of racing! We’ve got rain at Gulfstream and Aqueduct so let’s head to Churchill Downs for a grid only day and fire a grid and tickets at Del Mar! Race 6 – OC 62k/N2X – 1 Mile

The pace in this race is a bit of a puzzle so let’s start with #8 Colonel Bowman who adds blinkers and should be forwardly placed. Casse sends out #5 Candy Tycoon 2nd off the claim while cutting back to 1 turn. I expect him to run back to past form today and be dangerous. I’ll add #2 Shortlist and #1 Vulcan.

Race 7 – Alw 127k N1X – 5.5F

The favorite, #6 Sarah Harper, looks tough here, but is coming out of a maiden race where she was a short price so we will back her up with the #5 Before You. Before You has been on the improve and ships in after facing tougher her last in New York.

Race 8 – OC 100k/N2X – 1 1/16M

Last time out #5 Town Avenger faced Letruska in the Grade 1 Spinster so the waters get a lot shallower here. She will need some pace to run into, but is the class of this field. #7 Moon Swag took a nice step forward last time out with some trouble so let’s include her at 10-1.

Race 9 – Alw 10000s – 7F

Yes, #5 Malpais has won 7 straight, but he’s 1 for 5 at Churchill so let’s spread out here and go price hunting. We will start with #12 Midnight Patriot who he back in the Blair barn and back to dirt, both should be positives. #8 Thirsty Betrayal should get some pace to run into and loves CD with two wins over the surface. We will close the ticket with #2 Don’t Forget and #3 Skyscanner.
