Previewing the NFC South: Tampa Bay and the Others

Tampa Bay got on a roll in 2020 and rode a hot streak all the way to a Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs. They bring everybody back from that team and are ready for an encore. The Saints are facing life without Drew Brees and the other two are trying to find some answers.

Tampa Bay seems to be head and shoulders above everyone else in the division and poised for another great year. Tom Brady looks like he can play forever and they have solid players across the board. He gets a lot of attention, and deservedly so, but they have so many pieces that fit what this team wants to do.

The Saints have to adjust without the familiar right arm of legendary Drew Brees. They have brought in Jameis Winston and they are hoping they can get him to play up to his potential. They have players that have been on good teams and know how to win. They could be better than I think.

In Atlanta, they are bringing in a new coaching staff and hoping the shake-up will breathe some new life into room. They stuck with 36 year-old Matt Ryan at quarterback and hope he has some magic left in him.

It is year 2 for Coach Matt Ruhle and the Panthers have made several changes to the roster. They traded to get Sam Darnold at QB and brought in edge rusher Haason Reddick. They also had 11 draft picks so they are going to have one of the youngest squads in the league. Ruhle knows what he is doing and this is a team to keep an eye on.
