Free Pick: New Orleans (5-3) at Tennessee (7-2) 11/14/21

This is game 2 for the Titans without Derrick Henry. They passed their first test in flying colors, with a 28-16 over a very good Los Angeles Rams’ team. The Saints have injury problems of their own and they are playing their second game without Jameis Winston. They weren’t as fortunate last Sunday as they lost in the final seconds, 27-25 to Atlanta. This is a bigger game for them than it is the Titans. Let’s see if there is anything worth betting.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

New Orleans: 20.5 Total Team Points The Saints are averaging 25 points per game and the Tennessee defense isn’t a juggernaut, so this line appears a little low. The Saints have scored more than 21 points in six out of the 8 games they have played. Plus, the Tennessee defense has given up 21 points or more in 5 of the 9 games so far. Maybe the line is low because of the QB situation, but last week under back-up, Trevor Siemian, they scored 25 points and had over 370 total yards. I’m going New Orleans OVER 20.5 total team points.

Tennessee: 23.5 Total Team Points I’m still not totally confident about the Titans without Henry. Reviewing their offensive production from a week ago, they only gained 194 total yards against the Rams. LA quarterback, Matthew Stafford played his worst game as a Ram, and they greatly helped out the Tennessee offense. Another disturbing stat is the Titans rushed for only 69 yards in the game. I like Tennessee UNDER 23.5 total team points.

OVER/UNDER 45.5 Total Combined Team Points I don’t have any definite feelings about this line either way. I’m thinking a 23-21 or 21-17 type of game so I would the UNDER 45.5

POINT SPREAD: Tennessee is a 3-point favorite Saints head coach, Sean Payton, is a defensive whiz and he is going to make Ryan Tannehill beat him. There is no way the Titans will run the ball as well as they have. I think this is going to be a tough game for the Tennessee.
