Free Pick: Dallas 11-5 at Philadelphia 9-7 1/8/22

Before we start analyzing this game, the DUDES give a tip of the cap to the Philadelphia Eagles as they overachieved and are officially in the playoffs. They are facing a Dallas team that is currently in the 4th spot, and could finish as high as 2nd, if things break right for them. But, realistically they are probably going to end up where they currently reside. The Eagles are in 7th and have a shot at 6th, but that doesn’t matter too much in the overall scheme of things. So, the questions are, which team is going to show up and play the hardest and will they rest some of their starters? Let’s see what Vegas thinks.

Philadelphia: 17 Total Team Points Quarterback, Jalen Hurts has had a MVP type year, but no one is talking about it. He has thrown for 3,144 yards and rushed for 784 more. He has accounted for 26 touchdowns and has shown the toughness that this team is all about. The Eagles are rushing for 160 yards per game and they will try and pound it against the Cowboys, who have been average defending against the run. The Eagles have scored more than 17 points all but twice in the 16 games they have played. I’ll take the Eagles OVER 17 team points

Dallas: 24.5 Total Team Points Dallas is averaging 30 points per game and when they are on their game they are difficult to stop. There is no reason to list all of their offensive superstars. Everyone knows how good they are. Will they be motivated in this road game and how much does it mean to them to get the win? The Eagles have been stout upfront against the run and they are allowing only 216 passing yards per game. I’ll take Dallas UNDER 24.5 team points.

OVER/UNDER: 42.5 Combined Team Points. For some reason, I think this game is going to be a physical, low-scoring affair. I’m going UNDER 42.5 points.

POINT SPREAD: Dallas is a 7-point favorite. Dallas is favored and rightly so, but the line seems a little high to me. Both teams are already in the playoffs so there are questions as to who will play and who won’t, and who has the most motivation. Playing on Saturday means that neither team has any idea if they can improve their playoff situation or not.
