Free NHL Western Conference Playoffs Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays for 5/12/22

Last night was our first great night of picking the NHL in quite awhile. All three winning teams staged comebacks on their way to victory as these playoffs continue to be fantastic to watch, but very difficult to predict. Tonight is loaded with more of the same as we have four series and all are in Game 6. This will be close to impossible to get them all correct.

We cashed our Best Bet again as Florida came scored the last 5 goals of the game, completing a great comeback win over the Capitals. Our Best Bet of the Day record is now 53-37 since the All-Star Break.

We went only 3-0 betting the MoneyLine as we had a perfect night for the first time in forever. Our overall record is now 359-203 as the playoffs continue.

The run for the Stanley Cup continues today with 4 more games on the schedule. Let’s see what Vegas is thinking about the two Western Conference games and see if we can make the right picks tonight.

Minnesota at St.Louis: St.Louis leads the series 3-2: This unpredictable series returns to St.Louis where the Blues have a chance to close out the Wild tonight. The Blues came from behind on Tuesday in Minnesota and won 5-2, as Vladimir Tarasenko scored three goals in the 3rd period, on his way to a hat trick. They received another strong performance from Jordan Binnington in goal, as he stopped 30 of the 32 shots he faced. They are tough to beat when they get solid goaltending. Both Minnesota goals came on the power play in the 1st period and the Blues stayed out of the penalty box the rest of the game. Minnesota is a solid team and they are going to throw everything they have at the Blues in this one. Kirill Kaprizov has been sensational in this series as he has 7 goals in the five games. He will be a marked man tonight, so the Wild need some scoring from someone else. In summarizing this one, it comes down to the goaltending of Binnington and the play of the St.Louis defense. The Blues have a golden opportunity tonight to advance to the Conference semifinals. PAPA DUDES PICK: Bet the MoneyLine on St.Louis -115

Edmonton at Los Angeles: LA leads the series 3-2: Game 5 was a fabulous game that most of us couldn’t stay up to watch because of the late starting time. The Oilers came back from a 4-2 third period deficit, with two late goals (one shorthanded) from Leon Draisaitl to force overtime. The Kings gathered themselves and Adrian Kempe scored in the first 1:12 of overtime to give Los Angeles the victory, and a 3-2 advantage heading home tonight. This has been a topsy turvy series and home ice hasn’t seemed to matter much to either team. The Kings have been tenacious, and excluding games 2 and 3, have had the better of the more talented Oilers. There is more pressure on Edmonton to win than LA and the Oilers are feeling it. They are going to have to dig deep to win this one and stay alive. I’m going to go with the Kings to pull off the upset and close out the series tonight. PAPA DUDES PICK: Bet the MoneyLine on Los Angeles +120
