Free NHL Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays for 4/28/22

These last few games of the regular season are proving to be as unpredictable as the weather. Several games have no bearing on anything and that means trying to figure in who is going to care and who isn’t. And that is impossible to know. We cashed zero tickets last night.

We missed the Best Bet as Arizona scored the final 4 goals at Dallas, winning in overtime 4-3. Despite the loss, the Stars clinched the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Our Best Bet of the Day record now stands at 46-27 since the All-Star Break.

We went a poor 2-3 betting MoneyLine last night lowering our overall record to 321-178 since the All-Star break.

There are 9 games on the schedule for tonight and let’s see if we can get back on the winning track as we enter the final 2 days of the regular season.

*PAPA DUDES BEST BET* Washington at New York Islanders: The Capitals took it on the chin at home Tuesday night against this same Islanders team. That loss kept them from moving into 3rd place in the Metropolitan Division ahead of the Penguins. A 3rd place finish would prevent a first round matchup with the Florida Panthers. Washington needs to win this game and the finale against the Rangers tomorrow and they will finish 3rd. The Islanders are playing for pride and are finishing strong after a terrible start to the regular season. I like the focus and motivation the Caps should have for this one. *PAPA DUDES UPSET SPECIAL* Nashville at Colorado: The Predators have a bunch to play for in this one. They have fallen into the 2nd wild-card spot in the West. However, if they can win their last two games they would jump up to the 1st wild-card, and would avoid playing the Avalanche in the first round. This wraps up the regular season for Colorado, so it is doubtful if the regulars are going to see too much playing time. I wouldn’t bet much but Nashville could very easily win this one. *BEST GAME OF THE NIGHT* Calgary at Minnesota: This is another game involving a Calgary team with nothing to play for, and just trying to stay healthy and well-rested for the playoffs. On the other hand, Minnesota can clinch 2nd place in the Central and home ice advantage with a win over the Flames. The Wild were embarrassed in their last game, losing to lowly Arizona 5-3.
