Everyone knows about the shooting ability of Golden State’s Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, as well as the physical play of Draymond Green. But the emergence of Jordan Poole (21 pts. and 5 assists per game) and Andrew Wiggins 14 pts. and 7 rebounds) have given them additional weapons. They put away Denver and Nikola Jokic in 5 games and are well-rested coming into Memphis this afternoon. They have won 9 of their last 10 games and are playing at a very high level. Meanwhile, Memphis is coming off a grueling six game series with Minnesota that took every ounce of effort they had to win. They had to make huge comebacks in three of their wins and that takes a lot out of your energy level. They have superstar type players, that are just as good as Golden State’s main gunners, led by Ja Marant, Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks and Brandon Clarke.

Memphis won three of the four regular season games between the two and they are a great team. I see this as a golden opportunity for Golden State to come in and win Game 1 against the Grizzlies, coming into this game after a very difficult come-from-behind victory on Friday night.
