Saratoga and Del Mar Late Pick 4 Analysis 8-2-12

Saratoga Ticket

Race 8: 1,3,4

Race 9: 1,2,8

Race 10: 3,9,10

Race 11: 4,7,8

Cost: $40.50

Analysis: Just going to take a small stab at this one and Del Mar using three horses in each race.  In each of the races I’ve tried to use a favorite, a middle priced, and longer priced horse.  The 8th is a 2ok claimer going one mile on the lawn.  The turf races have produced some nice priced winners this meet and #4 Youwontseeme might fit that billing.  In the 9th, I like Al Stall’s Irish Exchange for top billing, but #1 Sly Warrior looks ok at a price.  The 10th is another claimer on the turf.  Chad Brown has the two outside entries, and both look enticing.  The last leg is yet another turf race, but this time for two-year old state breds.  Anything can happen here, and it could very well be a race you hit the ALL button if you can afford it.

Del Mar Ticket

Race 5: 1,3,6

Race 6: 2,4,6

Race 7: 1,2,5

Race 8: 1,8,9

Cost: $40.50

Analysis: This one looks like it’ll be a little easier to hit than Saratoga.  The hardest race may be the opening leg.  It’s an 8k claimer sprint, and looks to be wide open.  I’ve actually left out the favorite in that one, and think this race could be the key to getting some value.  I’ve also left off the favorite in race 6, but have a good feeling about #6 Monument.  The 7th is a short, but competitive field.  You can make a case for any of the five.  The final leg keys around the Baffert entry, which is #8 The Brain.  He was flat last time out, but you have to think he’s going to bounce back today.  #9 Timberlite is a horse that I could see pulling a big upset.
