Rocket Picks 🚀: Gulfstream Park, Monmouth Park, and Saratoga for July 16, 2022

Saratoga July 16, 2022

Race 8: Diana Stakes (G1)

#3 Bleeker Street is an undefeated seven for seven so far for Chad Brown, including a win over her main rival last time out at Belmont Park. She has just been a win machine up to this point. #4 Rougir should rebound from a poor effort last time out and runner better in this spot. Brown seems to have them over a barrel here.

Race 9: Allowance Optional Claiming

#9 Fort Ticonderoga was in impressive winner in his turf debut last time out, which was also his first start off of the layoff. If he moves forward off of that race there is no doubt he will be tough in this spot. #2 Royal Spirit gets back to the turf for this race, while also getting some class relief, which should help his chances dramatically.

Race 10: Sanford Stakes (G3)

#4 Forte was incredibly impressive on debut for Todd Pletcher, who is having another strong year with his younger runners. He is the one to beat if he can repeat that effort today. #5 Curly Jack was a sharp debut maiden special weight winner at Churchill Downs last time out for Amoss, who has had some flashy runners so far this year.

Race 11: Claiming

#4 Diva Ready drops down to the claiming ranks for this race after running decent against allowance runners last time out. She should get out to the lead in this spot today as well. #11 Kemba was a neck away from winning at this level and distance last time out at Belmont Park. This is a good spot for her to give it another shot.
