Rocket Picks 🚀: Del Mar, Gulfstream Park, and Saratoga for July 31, 2022

Saratoga July 31, 2022

Race 7: Allowance Optional Claiming

#2 Value Engineering runs off of a layoff in this spot; however, he takes a nice drop in class for this race. Brown will have him ready to fire. #5 Soldier Rising come close to winning a stakes last time out. Two starts back he won at this level.

Race 8: Bowling Green Stakes (G2)

#3 Highland Chief was able to take home the Man o’ War Stakes (G1) two starts back at Belmont Park, while the race could set up the same way for him. #1 L’Imperator will be dangerous for Chad Brown and usually shows up with a solid effort.

Race 9: Amsterdam Stakes (G2)

#7 Corniche makes his seasonal debut in this spot after winning 2-year-old of the year honors last season. It will be interesting to see how he returns today. #2 Gunite won a Grade 1 race over this track last year and comes into this spot today off of a victory at Churchill Downs.

Race 10: Maiden Claiming

#5 Martinez has been close to winning in both of his recent starts at this class level. #2 Steerage was not great on debut last time out; however, he should improve today. Handal trained horses usually take a jump up in their second starts.
