Rocket Picks 🚀: Churchill Downs, Santa Anita, and Belmont Park for June 10, 2022

Race 8: Belmont Gold Cup Stakes (G2)

#1 Loft makes his debut in the United States today after a victory at this distance last time out in a Group 2 event. He should be formidable against this weaker group today. #2 Abaan has been the best horse in this country going this distance. He will look to control the early pace just like he did back in December when winning a similar race at Gulfstream Park.

Race 9: Truth North Stakes (G2)

#3 Jackies Warrior will skip out of the Met Mile to run in this much easier spot today. If he shows up with his normal effort there is no doubt he win this race. #6 Sound Money will cut back in distance for this race after running second in a Grade 3 event last time out. Four starts back he beat allowance runners at a similar distance to todays race.

Race 10: New York Stakes (G1)

#2 Rougir looked impressive last time out in her second start in the United States and first for Chad Brown. She should be very difficult to beat this year. #5 Bleecker Street is a perfect six for six coming into this race; however, this is a much tougher challenge today. Chad Brown certainly holds a strong hand in this race.

Race 11: Intercontinental Stakes (G3)

#7 Caravel takes a slight drop in class for this race, which should help her chances today, while also facing just females. With a better trip, she should be tough in this spot. #9 Illegal Smile has won two straight races coming into this one, including an allowance at Keeneland in her last start. She seems ready for stakes company once again.
