Race 7: Starter Allowance

We will single #1 Dontmesswithtess in the first leg of this Pick 3 for Mike Maker. She gets back to the turf today, which seems to be her best surface. She has hit the board in eight straight starts coming into this one, while she has won three of those contests. Irad Ortiz, Jr. gets aboard today, which is a good sign this horse is ready to fire.

Race 8: Gold Fever Stakes

#2 Squire Creek will try stakes for the first time today after back to back wins to start his career. He was ultra-impressive in an allowance win at Keeneland last time out. #1 Joey Freshwater goes for two in a row after a nice win in the Bay Shore Stakes (G3) last time out at Aqueduct. We will also use #6 Drew’s Gold on the ticket.

Race 9: Maiden Special Weight

#2 Tactical Joke was a solid third on debut last time out at Gulfstream Park and should move forward off of that effort. #5 Rugelach was a nose away from winning at this level last time out over the synthetic surface at Gulfstream Park. The move back to the turf should help her chances. We will also use #8 Love to Shop on the ticket.
