Rocket Picks 🚀: Oaklawn Park, Gulfstream Park, and Santa Anita for January 22, 2023

Race 7: Claiming

#12 Golden Soda can pull the mild upset today after winning over this track and at this class level last time out. He should improve in his second race off of the layoff today. #4 Pipito was a close second last time out against similar horses at Gulfstream Park. This is also his first race after being claimed by a solid trainer.

Race 8: Allowance Optional Claiming

#1 Meetmeinkingston was a close second at this level and distance last time out at Gulfstream Park. He should improve in his second race over the turf today. #2 No Angel moves back to the turf today, which is his best surface. He won at this level three starts back at Laurel Park.

Race 9: Claiming

#6 Bluefield has run well in two starts over this track and at this level since coming back from a layoff. She should be tough again today. #4 Strong Silent gets major class relief in this spot today, which should lead to an improved effort. Shew won at this level two starts back at Churchill Downs, but must run off of a layoff today.

Race 10: Starter Optional Claiming

#2 Good Soldier gets back to the turf today, which is his best surface, while he also gets major class relief today. That looks to be needed. #9 Media Sensation gets back to the turf today as well after running was over the synthetic surface last time out. He has been close to winning since dropping to this level.
