Rocket Picks 🚀: Keeneland and Oaklawn Park for April 23, 2023

Let’s get another big Sunday of racing kicked off today! We are changing things up with the Rockets, focusing more on Pick 3 and Pick 5 plays, and not Pick 4’s. With that being said, this article will now focus on Pick 3’s with larger base wagers. Today, we will look at the early Pick 3 from Keeneland. We will also have full card selections for Oaklawn for the paid Rockets, so be sure to check those out. Let’s GO!

Race 1: Claiming

#5 King’s Ovation gets class relief today after running second last time out against starter allowance horses at Gulfstream Park. #1 Fieldstone has run third at this level in two straight starts at Fair Grounds. The change of scenery could help his chances today.

Race 2: Maiden Special Weight

#5 Cowichan has been close in several starts behind solid horses. This is the easiest group she has faced in her career. #12 Secret Money was a decent fourth on debut at Gulfstream Park and should improve in her second start for a solid trainer. Irad Ortiz, Jr. also jumps aboard.

Race 3: Claiming

#4 Treasure of War gets back to the dirt today, which seems to be her best surface. She also gets some solid class relief. #8 Honorifique also will get a drop in class today after taking on allowance runners in her last several starts. This is also her second race off of the layoff. We will also use #3 Lucy’s Cakes Fly on our ticket.
