Rocket Picks 🚀: Fair Grounds, Gulfstream Park, and Santa Anita Park for December 26, 2022

Hopefully everyone had a great Holiday! Now, it’s time for the “Horse Racing Christmas” as it is opening day at Santa Anita! Race 7: Starter Optional Claiming

#6 Lay the Groundwork gets class relief today, while moving back to the synthetic surface, which is where he broke his maiden earlier in the year. #2 Economic Hangover was a close second at this class level and distance last time out. Both of these horses have solid Gulfstream Park connections.

Race 8: Tropical Park Derby

#2 Grand Sonata has hit the board in three straight races against similar horses coming into this race. #8 Steady On was a close second last time out at this level when trying stakes company for the first time. He should improve today, while he had won two straight before the stakes loss.

Race 9: Claiming

#6 Peachy Weachy was a solid second last time out at a similar class level at Laurel Park. She cuts back in distance today, which should help her chances. #5 Pens Street gets class relief in this spot today, while running second off of the layoff. Irad Ortiz, Jr. also jumps aboard today.

Race 10: Claiming

#6 Backchat was third at this class level last time out over this track. He seemed to improve when moving over to the turf after running over the synthetic track. #7 Badbadbobby should benefit the most from the race being taken off the turf and put on the synthetic surface.
