#2 Timbuktu was a head away from winning at this level and at this distance last time out. He seems to be the one to beat today. #9 Broken Spur looks to win two in a row today after taking a high maiden claiming field gate to wire in his last start. We will also use #5 Forwardly on the ticket.

Race 9: John A. Nerud Stakes (G2)

#3 Weyburn runs for Pletcher for the first time today, which could lead to an improved effort. He also is best at this distance. #1 Candy Man Rocket is the class of this field and is in great from heading into this race. His best race might be better than the rest of these horses.

Race 10: Maiden Claiming

#2 Miracle Mike should improve today in his second race over the turf. He was solid at this level in his last start. #6 Your Mission defeated our top choice last time out, while narrowly missing to finish second. This is the most logical horse to pick in this race.
