Rocket Picks 🚀: Churchill Downs and Belmont Park for May 6, 2023

Let’s get another big Kentucky Derby Saturday of racing kicked off today! Today, we will look at the middle Pick 3 from Churchill Downs. We will also have full card selections for Belmont Park for the paid Rockets, so be sure to check those out. Let’s GO!

Race 9: American Turf Stakes (G2)

We will single #11 Carl Spackler to kick off this Pick 3. He is one of our strongest opinions on the card, while the price shouldn’t be bad on him, with this field being fairly strong. If he fires like he did last time out he should pick up an easy victory and Chad Brown is always tough in these races.

Race 10: Churchill Downs Stakes (G1)

#7 Cody’s Wish is back after a fantastic year that saw him win several in a row, including the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1). This horse will win if he is ready off of the layoff. #10 Endorsed should be tough in this spot after running well all season. He has the edge from a fitness prospective over this main rival.

Race 11: Old Forester Bourbon Turf Classic Stakes (G1)

#4 Steady On has been solid for Todd Pletcher in his last several starts, including a nice victory last time out at Gulfstream Park. #5 Up to the Mark also has been running well lately for Pletcher. He gets a bit of class relief after running in a tougher race last time out. We will also use #3 Wolfie’s Dynaghost, #7 Hong Kong Harry, and #8 Santin on the ticket.
