Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Saratoga Picks for July 21, 2021

Ricky’s Rockets🚀 sure enjoyed opening weekend by cashing in 5/9 Pick 5’s and 5/8 Pick 4’s and a $1 Pick 6 from Saratoga! We also were able to sweep the card on Saturday, highlighted by the Diana Stakes (G1). It was one heck of a weekend, but it’s time to get right back into the action on Wednesday afternoon. This is the only track we are playing on Wednesday, but it’s an action-packed card with 10 races.

Saratoga July 21, 2021

Race 7: $40,000 Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the inner turf

#4 Justintimeforwine got ahead of herself last time out, when he established a five length lead. A little better handling in that race, and he could’ve won. #12 Gimme Some Mo faces Claiming competition for the first time in his career as he drops in out of some tough Starter Allowance races at Gulfstream Park, Aqueduct and Belmont Park.

Race 8: $45,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 5 1/2 furlongs on the Mellon turf

#1 Discretionary Marq has had his chances at this level in three straight tries, but the move to Irad Ortiz Jr. should help him show a little more speed out of the gate. #10 Three Outlaws has finished in the money in 3/5 races this year, and gets a slight rider bump from Manny Franco to Ricardo Santana Jr. 

Race 9: $100,000 Allowance Optional claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt

#2 Forza Di Oro comes into this one having won two in a row, but he hasn’t run since November. Junior Alvarado has been the only rider this colt by Speightstown has ever had. #3 Highest Honors makes the move up in class after winning at the $80,000 level last time out. This is the next step in progression before he’s back in a stakes race.

Race 10: $40,000 Maiden Claiming for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 5 1/2 furlongs on the dirt OFF TURF
