Kentucky Downs September 8, 2021

Race 7: $62,500 Allowance Optional Claiming for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the turf

#2 Jezebel’s Kitten hasn’t won a race since she ran at Kentucky Downs as a two year old. Maybe there’s something about this European-style course that suits her perfectly. #3 Enjoyitwhilewecan takes a slight drop in class for Mike Maker, as he looks to get this mare back into form.

Race 8: TVG 2 Stakes for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile 70 yards (8 furlongs 70 yards)

#4 Kentucky Ghost has been an incredibly solid runner as of late, finishing second in a stakes race at Colonial Downs. Rafael Bejarano was aboard last when he won at Churchill Downs last May. #9 Forty Under won his last race at Saratoga, taking that field gate-to-wire. That spot was the perfect setup for him as he enters this stakes event.

Race 9: TVG Stakes for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile 70 yards (8 furlongs 70 yards) on the turf

#7 Majestic Eagle didn’t fare so well in his Kentucky Downs debut back in 2019 in the Tourist Mile. Joel Rosario will look to get him back to the winners circle for the first time since 2019. #8 Snapper Sinclair ran a great race in the Opening Verse Stakes in April. It’s been over four months since we’ve seen him, but he has won 2/3 races in his career at Kentucky Downs.

Race 10: Maiden Special Weight for 2-year-old fillies going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the turf

#1 Already Charming and #1A Soft Touch would be tough to beat on their own merits. Now that they are coupled for wagering purposes, they will be even tougher. #2 Way too Pretty was solid on debut, overcoming a four wide trip. Ricardo Santana Jr. takes over for Rafael Bejarano who’s aboard a first time starter for George Arnold.
