Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Keeneland Picks for October 14, 2020 October 13, 2020 Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Keeneland Picks for October 14, 2020 October 13, 2020 By: Ricky Pasternak email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article After some Memorial Day action across the country, Keeneland is the first track to begin the new week. There are only eight races on the card, but there’s plenty of excitement, and plenty of wagering options as well! Best of luck! ( Content Continues Below Ad ) Race 5: Maiden Special Weight for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the turf #5 Take Charge Ro looked much improved in her debut on the turf for Brian Lynch. After watching her debut on the dirt, it looked like a setup for her second race where he was closing late on the turf. #6 Rearrange put forth her best performances going long on the turf in her career. Many will write her off since she’s already been given six chances, but she has races that will compete in this spot. Race 6: Maiden Special Weight for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt #1 Dovima will be vying for favoritism at post time after finishing second twice in her two starts on the turf to start her career. Her one start on the dirt she finished third, but was bumped at the start and was dead last early on. #3 Movie Moxy has had poor starts at the beginning of her races, forcing her riders to change tactics early on. She is extremely talented, but will she get out of her on way? Race 7: $100,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for 3-year-old fillies going 6 furlongs on the dirt #4 Lexi On the Move will look to win at this level after finishing third in this spot on September 19. Her trainer Robertino Diodoro has put her against some of the best fillies in the country, but she isn’t quite at the highest level of 3-year-old fillies. #7 Call On Mischief has finished in the money in 6/10 starts for Michael Stidham and Phoenix Thoroughbred. She’s proven to be a much better dirt runner with two wins in seven starts on a fast main track sprinting. Race 8: $15,000 Maiden Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt Who do you like here? That’s the ultimate question as none of these runners standout on paper. #4 Monte Ne is one of the runners that I would consider a must use for one major reason. In his two races on the dirt he’s shown a lot of speed but has gotten caught late. This is a massive drop in class and he should have a better time holding onto the lead if he’s not pressed early on.
