Race 8: Maiden Special Weight for 2-year-old fillies going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf

#3 Miner’s Queen will look to give Steve Asmussen his first win the meet. Ricardo Santana Jr. and Asmussen have teamed up to win at 18% in the last 365 days. #5 Train to Artemus will get the powerful duo of Wesley Ward and Gerardo Corrales. Corrales has been the regular rider at the meet and the two of them have teamed up to win at 37% over 85 races in the last 365 days.

Race 9: TVG Stakes for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 5/16 miles (10 1/2 furlongs) on the turf

#3 Mrs. Sippy has only had one bad race since her United States debut. In her only race this year, she finished second by a neck in the Waya (G3) at Saratoga.

Race 10: Untapable Stakes for 2-year-old fillies going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf

#3 Red Ghost ran just two weeks ago on dirt, a race scheduled for the turf. It’s tough to know what surface she will prefer, but she’s extremely quick nonetheless. Jose Ortiz rides back for Wesley Ward as he did in her first start. The jockey/trainer combo has won at 38% in the last 365 days. #9 Mad Maddy has finished second in every start in her career against tough Maiden Special Weight competition. Behind Red Ghost, there’s a gap in talent, and there’s no reason Mad Maddy can’t break her maiden in this stakes race.

Race 11: Music City Stakes for 3-year-old fillies going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf

#6 She’s My Type has gotten better and better with each start in 2020. She’s better going shorter distances and this looks perfect for her. Her specialty is closing on the turf in sprints, and this looks like her type of race on paper. #10 Kimari was scratched out of Saturday’s Kentucky Downs Ladies Sprint (G3) for this spot. In saying that, she should be considered one of the top choices as the connections opt for the softer field.
