Gulfstream Park January 23, 2020

Race 9: Inside Information Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt

#2 Cinnabunny has a pace advantage in this spot that will make her tough on the front end. In saying this, 7 furlongs has been a challenge for her in the past. #6 Pacific Gale has never won at this distance in the past, but she could be sitting the perfect trip in this spot. Look for her to sit right off of the pace.

Race 10: W. L. McKnight Stakes (G3) for 4-year-olds and upward going 1 1/2 miles (12 furlongs) on the turf

#1 Doswell has proven in the past, that no distance will be an issue for him. These races tend to be won on the front end with relatively slow fractions. #5 Sadler’s Joy is also no stranger to this distance with 14 career starts at 12 furlongs on the turf.  It’s fair to say he can run for days, and 9 of those races have seen him finish in the top three.

Race 11: Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational Stakes (G1) for 1 3/16 miles (9 1/2 furlongs) on the turf

I wanted to try and avoid using favorites in this spot but #5 Colonel Liam and #8 Anothertwistafate look extremely impressive on paper. Colonel Liam won his only race on the turf here at Gulfstream Park and is in great form. Anothertwistafate is coming off a spectacular win in the San Gabriel Stakes (G2) last time out. Good luck to the other contenders in this race.

Race 12: Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) for 4-year-olds and upward going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt

#4 Knicks Go is arguably the best horse in training regardless of age, gender, surface, distance or any other condition. He can cement himself in the upper echelon of older horses with a win here. #7 Tax looked good in his return to Gulfstream Park last time out. There’s a lot on the line for him here considering his poor effort in this race last year. Look for him to rebound in a big way.
