Ricky’s Rockets ?: Gulfstream Park and Woodbine for September 11, 2020

Even though none of the big tracks in California, Kentucky, or New York are running today, there’s still plenty of action. Florida and has us covered in the United States, while north of the border, we head to Woodbine one day before the 161st running of the Queen’s Plate. Ricky’s Rocket’s will look to continue momentum after bringing home the late Pick 4 and late Pick 5 yesterday at Gulfstream Park.

Race 6: Maiden Special Weight for 2-year-olds going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

#1 Raison d’Air will try the dirt for the first time under Katherine Ritvo. Ritvo is winning at 23% when her runners go from a sprint to a route in the last 365 days. He also gets blinkers for the first time so hopefully he shows speed out of the gate. #5 Orula moves up in class for a barn that hasn’t won a race yet at the meet. The positive about this 2-year-old is his early speed which he’s shown in his last two races. If he can get the lead with ease, he could go gate-to-wire.

Race 7: $16,000-$14,000 Claiming for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 5 furlongs on the dirt OFF TURF

Race has come off of the turf. Will be using: #3 Sweetly Maid and #4 Dahlonega!

Race 8: $16,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for Florida-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#4 Arrivederla will look to make it three in a row as he faces this group of runners for the first time since June 20 where he finished fifth. However, he is in much better form this time around, and has been showing early speed, something he never did in the past. #8 Trev is clearly the horse to beat. He’s won five races in a row and all of the wins have come by two lengths or more.

Race 9: $25,000 Maiden Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt OFF TURF

Race has come off of the turf. Will be using: #2 Rocket Blast and #6 Dilligent
