Ricky’s Rockets ?: Gulfstream Park, Kentucky Downs and Woodbine for September 12, 2020

If you’re a fan of turf racing, Kentucky Downs is the place to be. There are five stakes races on the turf Saturday afternoon, all of which have many implications moving forward. This is all part of an 11-race card in Franklin, Kentucky.

Race 8: Kentucky Downs Ladies Sprint Stakes for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf

#8 Got Stormy makes her Kentucky Downs debut for Mark Casse as she looks for her first win in 2020. #10 Jakarta has been SCRATCHED! Will be using #7 Cariba as her replacement.

Race 9: Kentucky Downs Juvenile Turf Sprint Stakes for 2-year-olds going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf

#9 Outadore was arguably the best 2-year-old on turf at the Saratoga meet this year. He will look to repeat that effort and parlay it into a stakes win. #10 Fauci ran into Golden Pal, who won the Skidmore Stakes. This will be the first time Fauci goes this long on the turf.

Race 10: Calumet Farm Kentucky Turf Cup Sprint (G3) for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/2 miles (12 furlongs) on the turf

#5 Arklow has gone this distance 9 times in the past and has finished in the money 5 times. In 2 Kentucky Downs starts, he’s finished first and second, both at this distance. This is clearly a runner whom bettors must use. #10 Zulu Alpha makes his return to Kentucky Downs looking to make it 2 in a row after defeating Arklow in last year’s running.

Race 11: Runhappy Turf Sprint Stakes (G3) for 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the turf

#6 Kanthaka is looking for his first turf win after switching surfaces late last year. He made his first start for Graham Motion on June 20 this year and almost beat Oleksandra in the Jaipur (G1) at Belmont Park. #12 Bound for Nowhere won his only race here at Kentucky Downs in the 2018 Tourist Mile. Now a pure sprinter, he looks to be one of the top choices to beat.
