Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Gulfstream Park and Oaklawn Park Picks for March 11, 2021

Ricky’s Rockets🚀 started off the month strong by cashing some nice Pick 4, Pick 5 and Pick 6 tickets in 3/4 days last week. As we always say, WE DON’T PLAN ON STOPPING! We can’t rest on our laurels, and must try and continue to build our bankrolls. We kick off the week with racing from Arkansas and Florida on Thursday afternoon, to get us ramped up for what looks to be another massive weekend ahead!

Also included below: my 10-race preview of Gulfstream Park and 9-race preview of Oaklawn Park.

Best of luck!

Gulfstream Park March 11, 2021

Race 7: $50,000-$40,000 Claiming for 4-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the turf

#5 Morocco has been pretty good since making his way down to Florida from New York. He will face a better group of runners here, but he’s been pretty good at this level recently. #7 Blind Ambition hasn’t been great when going this distance in the past, but 5 furlongs is too short for him. He’s an interesting horse to figure out.

Race 8: $75,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for 3-year-olds going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

This race starts and ends with #6 Prevalence for Brendan Walsh. In his debut, he won by over 8 lengths and did so with ease. Tyler Gaffalione should enjoy getting aboard this colt for Godolphin who may have their best youngster to go along with Essential Quality. Prevalence should use this race to gather even more momentum toward the Kentucky Derby.

Race 9: Starter Allowance for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the turf

#1 Charge Account makes her first start for Kelly Breen, which is an upgrade over Kendall Condie, her previous trainer. This is a step up in class, but she matches up well against a lot of Claiming runners. #3 Little Bit Good is arguably the best of the Claiming runners we are looking at. She hasn’t been under 10/1 since last October, when she won by 6 lengths.

Race 10: $50,000-$40,000 Maiden Claiming for 3-year-olds going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the turf

#5 Alado will try going two turns on the turf for the first time in his career. His talent clearly belongs on the grass based on his results, but this will be a new task for him. Jose Ortiz will get his chance in this spot to help lead this colt to a win. #10 Future Victory drops in for a tag for the first time in his career. He started his career at Tampa Bay Downs, which was already a red flag. Pletcher usually bring this best horses to Gulfstream to make their debut. It’s not surprise he drops in for a tag after all, but he’s more than talented enough to win in this spot.
