Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Gulfstream Park and Oaklawn Park Picks for January 29, 2020 January 28, 2021 Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Gulfstream Park and Oaklawn Park Picks for January 29, 2020 January 28, 2021 By: Ricky Pasternak email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article Ricky’s Rockets? took advantage of a small card at Aqueduct and ran with it! Let’s not forget about a great day at Gulfstream Park as well on Thursday afternoon missing a sweep of the card by just ONE RACE! We are back on Friday afternoon from Florida, and will throw Oaklawn into the mix as well. Let’s make this Friday a winning one! Also included below: my 10-race preview of Gulfstream Park and 9-race preview at Oaklawn Park. Best of luck! ( Content Continues Below Ad ) Gulfstream Park January 29, 2020 Race 7: $20,000-$16,000 Claiming for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 5 furlongs on the turf #3 Hurricane Breeze takes a massive drop in class and makes the move from New York to Florida. This is a move I’ve been relying on a lot with many runners. #6 Dream Chasing enters this race with the ability to be near the front end, in a pace less race. There’s plenty of value here at 8/1. Race 8: $6,250 Claiming for 4-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt #2 Starship Apollo seems to be consistent no matter what the condition or the distance is. He is one of my top choices but don’t love the price. #4 January Won was just a 1/2 length away in this spot last time out. He’s an obvious choice and provides a lot more value than Starship Apollo. Race 9: $75,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for 3-year-old fillies going 5 furlongs on the turf #1 Danessa Baby took the lead from the gate but as the race progressed, he wore down. There’s no way the first quarter goes in :20.68 again right? #2 Magical Soul took advantage of that quick fraction but still failed to get to the winners’ circle. These two are standouts on paper. Race 10: $6,250 Claiming for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt #5 Lailoni hasn’t been seen since 2019, but when she was running in similar races, she was tough to beat. The layoff will be tough to overcome, but I don’t want to bet against her. #8 Wedontbelieveher will be coming from well off of the pace in this spot. I anticipate fast fractions early on, which help provide an opportunity for closers to make their mark. THE TICKET $3 Pick 4 (Races 7-10) 3,9 / 2,4 / 1,2 / 5,8 – $48 For my full card plays, featuring race-by-race analysis, my top four picks for each race, and full-card multi-race wagers, check out my product below:Ricky’s Rockets: Gulfstream ParkRicky’s Rockets: Oaklawn Park
