Saratoga August 12, 2021

Race 7: $16,000 Claiming for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt

#2 Thief of Hearts has been SCRATCHED! Now using the entry #1A Hollywood Gina and #1A Nicky Scissors! #8 Sweeter finished third at the $30,000 level. Joel Rosario was the rider in her only win at Belmont Park back in May.

Race 8: $80,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt

#4 Letmeno has shown he can run against Allowance runners, just not stakes runners. In these types of spots, he’s proven he can compete. #6 Chocolate Bar has been extremely consistent in his career, but the majority of his races have been on the grass. He finished third at this level in a race taken off fo the grass back in July.

Race 9: Allowance for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 5 1/2 furlongs on the Melon turf

#1 Uncle’s Gem went gate-to-wire against a decent Maiden Special Weight group on opening weekend. This is the next logical step in her progression for Linda Rice. #6 Fractorization finished third going 5 1/2 on the Melon turf last year with Jose Ortiz aboard. In her best races, she’s had the lead from the very start.

Race 10: $75,000 Maiden Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the inner turf

#11 No Burn wasn’t bad at all on debut, going 8 furlongs on the turf. He has every right to take a step forward in his second career start for Bill Mott. #12 Abaan makes his debut on the grass, after four failed attempts on the dirt. There’s not a ton of turf pedigree, but the drop in class should help either way.
