We didn’t put together the day we had on Wednesday, but we got some top choices home at Gulfstream and Saratoga to help get back on track. We are back with a 10-race card highlighted by the Saratoga Special Stakes (G2), the first graded event of the meet for 2-year-olds.
Also included below: my 9-race preview of Gulfstream Park and 9-race-preview of Del Mar!
Best of luck!
Race 7: $25,000 Claiming for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt
#3 Archumybaby won at this level 2 starts back and returns to a level that suits her talent much better than her last effort at the $32k level. #5 Daria’s Angel hasn’t run since February 28, but trainer Rob Atras is a decent 10% with horses returning from long layoffs.
Race 8: Allowance for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the inner turf
#5 Giacosa has improved in each of her 4 career starts. #8 Amos almost won at this level in her last start and Jose Lezcano is an underrated turf rider.
Race 9: Saratoga Special Stakes (G2) for 2-year-olds going 6 furlongs on the dirt
#6 Cazadero is undefeated and hasn’t won a race by less than 4 lengths. #9 Therideofalifetime took a major step forward to win his second start.
Race 10: $40,000 Maiden Claiming for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 5 1/2 furlongs on the outer turf
#2 Tilsa was much better in her second start and drops down another level while sprinting for the first time. #10 Microcap‘s trainer Chad Brown is always tough on New York turf and wins at 17% with runners at this level.
