Saratoga August 6, 2021

Race 7: National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes (G2) for 3-year-olds going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the inner turf

#2 Public Sector has run well in every race outside of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) last year. He’s always a factor and will be a factor in this race as well. #7 Next is an interesting prospect, winning 2/3 races on the grass.  His only loss on this surface was in the American Turf Stakes (G2) back on Kentucky Derby Weekend in May.

Race 8: Alydar Stakes for 4-year-olds and upward going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt

#4 Art Collector hasn’t run a good race since he ran in the Ellis Park Derby almost a year ago. There’s not much of a chance he can run any worse than he did back on June 25 in his return to the track. #8 Night Ops looked good in the Monmouth Cup (G3), losing to Dr. Post by a little more than a length. He’s also competed against Silver State twice this year losing by less than four lengths in both races.

Race 9: Troy Stakes (G3) for 4-year-olds and upward going 5 1/2 furlongs on the Melon turf

#6 Gear Jockey has been in good form lately, and looked good at this distance at the beginning of the month. Jose Lezcano has been absolutely masterful on the turf at this meet as well. #11 Bound for Nowhere is supposed to win on paper. Unfortunately, this isn’t won on paper, and this field is a true (G1) field given the talent.

Race 10: $40,000 Maiden Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the inner turf

#1 Digital Software has been a favorite in all but one race in his career, and that was in his debut last June. It’s been close to 14 months and he’s still searching for his first win. #6 Bail Out has finished second in two races very similar to this one. Luis Saez maintains the mount for the 4th straight race.
