Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Del Mar, Gulfstream Park and Saratoga Picks for August 13, 2021

Ricky’s Rockets 🚀 started off the week well with back-to-back winning days at the SPA, but this is where we make it count. Friday is where we ramp things up, heading into another strong weekend of racing. Let’s keep the momentum going as we attack Del Mar, Gulfstream Park and Saratoga.

Saratoga August 13, 2021

Race 7: Allowance for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the inner turf

#10 Freedom Machine was a big price at this level last time out, but she ran extremely well. She certainly won’t be that price in this race. #11 My Lips Are Sealed had been on a tear prior to her last race. She finished 8th in the same race that Freedom Machine comes out of on July 24 here at Saratoga.

Race 8: $80,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 5 1/2 furlongs on the Melon turf

#1 Shekky Shebaz burned bettors for the second straight race last time out at this level. He is supposed to win this race, but he was supposed to win his last two races as well. #3 Noble Emotion comes into this one undefeated this year, and unbeaten at Saratoga. He certainly seems to like this turf course, and is one to include on all tickets.

Race 9: Tale of the Cat Stakes for 4-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#1 My Boy Tate is looking for his first win since March, when he won the Haynesfield Stakes. In five career races at Saratoga, he’s never finished worse than third. #6 Foolish Ghost beat My Boy Tate last time out in the Jim Morrissey Stakes over a sloppy track. Joel Rosario picks up the mount for the second straight race.

Race 10: $16,000 Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt

#1 Joey Loose Lips has been SCRATCHED! USING #4 GOOD CULTURE! #9 Well Done West is also taking a drop in class for Danny Gargan. Gargan is winning at 24% and all of his runners have looked impressive here at Saratoga.
