Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Belmont Park, Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita Park Picks for September 27, 2020 September 26, 2020 Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Belmont Park, Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita Park Picks for September 27, 2020 September 26, 2020 By: Ricky Pasternak email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article It took a while but Ricky’s Rockets finally got back on track with multiple top-choice winners and bringing home a few Pick 4’s and Pick 5’s in the late afternoon at Santa Anita. Many questions racing fans had regarding runners in the Breeders’ Cup, were answered on Saturday afternoon. There was action all over the country yesterday and no one wanted to miss a beat. Luckily for racing fans, the action is back on Sunday afternoon. Also included below: my 12-race preview of Gulfstream Park and 11-race preview of Santa Anita. Best of luck! ( Content Continues Below Ad ) Race 7: Maiden Special Weight for 2-year-olds going 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt #6 Highly Motivated ran an incredible race in his debut finishing second over a muddy track at Saratoga. He deserves to be the favorite in this field based on that effort. The question with him is: Does he enjoy a muddy track more than a fast track? Race 8: Allowance for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the inner turf #2 More Like It ran second at this level last time out fro Bruce Brown. He makes sense on paper and should close late in the stretch. #3 Big Wonder raced just last week at the $40,000 Claiming level winning by a nose. Assuming he’s ready to go, he fits perfectly in this spot. Race 9: Allowance for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt #2 Mrs. Danvers was no match for Gamine and Venetian Harbor in the Test (G1) at Saratoga. The last time she ran at the Allowance level, she finished second by four lengths. #3 Pop a Choc is also looking for her second career win. She should be forwardly placed as her lone win showed her pure speed. In her first dirt start, she went gate-to-wire here at Belmont Park. Race 10: $40,000 Claiming for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the widener turf #9 More Mango is facing fillies for the first time after going gate-to-wire at Saratoga. She gets Manny Franco for the first time, who is already winning at 17% at the meet. #10 Lido Key makes her first start for Mike Maker, who is winning at 25% through the first couple of weeks at Belmont. This filly makes her return to Belmont for the first time since 2019.
