Belmont Park October 3, 2021

Race 6: $40,000 Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the widener turf

#7 Hieroglyphics will look to make it two in a row, as he takes a step up in class. He won at the $25,000 level last time out, but did win at this level about a year ago over this turf course. #8 Tizzarunner returns to his favorite track, something he needs desperately. This would be his first win of the year, as he looks for his 4th here at Belmont.

Race 7: $25,000 Claiming for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt

#2 No Deal has been extremely hit and miss for the most part this year. She does have the ability to be on the front end, which is the best part about her recent performances. #7 Awesome Indra also can be forwardly placed, based on her last few races. She’s undefeated here at Belmont in an extremely limited sample size.

Race 8: $45,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#3 The Important One dominated at this level on the dirt last time out, in a race taken off of the turf. She’s always been a better dirt runner than turf runner. #10 Irish Constitution ran well in the Union Avenue Stakes at Saratoga in August. This is pretty comparable to what she ran against on that afternoon.

Race 9: $40,000 Maiden Claiming for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the widener turf

#5 Bella Principessa has had a ton of chances to win a race, but hasn’t been able to get the job done. She will take money in this spot once again, something she’s done the majority of her career. #13 Hit the Nail draws into this race, and should immediately make an impact. She’s been competing against much tougher competition in her last couple of races.
