Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Belmont Park, Churchill Downs and Santa Anita Park Picks for June 19, 2021

#RickysRockets🚀 hasn’t been to Santa Anita Park in quite some time, but we are BACK! One of the biggest reasons I haven’t played it in so long is the small fields, but that certainly isn’t an issue on Saturday afternoon. They have four stakes on the card, highlighted by the San Juan Capistrano Stakes (G3) to end the day! Let’s cap off the Santa Anita meet in style and cash some tickets as well!

Also included below: my 10-race preview of Belmont Park, 11-race preview of Churchill Downs, 11-race preview of Santa Anita Park!

Belmont Park June 19, 2021

Race 7: $40,000 Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the inner turf

#4 Boru makes his first start for Mike Micelli, who has finished in the money with 10/18 runners to this point at the meet. He’s slowly but surely done well for himself as Dylan Davis picks up the mount. #9 Smile Bryan finished second in his only race at Belmont Park last time out, at the $25,000 level. Luis Saez is the perfect rider for him, as he tends to struggle getting out of the gate.

Race 8: Starter Allowance for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

#4 Top Gun Tommy ships to New York for the first time, after getting destroyed by Known Agenda. Known Agenda is one of the best three year olds in the country, so it’s not the worst loss of all time. #6 Risk Profile figured out what he was supposed to do, drawing away to win by close to 9 lengths. He could’ve won by more if Luis Saez needed him to extend himself.

Race 9: New York Stallion Stakes for 3-year-olds going 7 furlongs on the widener turf

#2 Dancing Buck has proven to be a quality runner regardless of the surface, but he is probably better on the grass. He ran one stakes race in February, but he was never really competitive. #13 Step Dancer was closing with every stride last time out here at Belmont, but just ran out of room. This distance will be challenging as he’s never run less than a mile before.

Race 10: $25,000 Maiden Claiming for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#2 Ob La Di has been pretty good when she’s been running on a fast track. Her two poor performances occurred when she ran on sloppy tracks. 8/1 is a very solid price on her. #7 Tootsie’s Song makes her debut for George Weaver with Joel Rosario aboard. She doesn’t need a massive effort to win first time against a horrid field. She might not be able to run at all, but the connections and jockey are too good to pass on.
